Our Mission:To support Mayor Jeff Cheney’s initiative to honor, celebrate and award Frisco’s Veterans for the contributions to our country and leverage their talent to strengthen our community and local businesses. We want Frisco to not just be a “Veteran-friendly” community but to be a “Veteran-ready” community that realizes the contributions Veterans can make to strengthen our community.

Annual Frisco Memorial Day Ceremony held at the Veterans Memorial and Walk of Honor at Frisco Commons Park. Ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00am rain or shine.
This moving, patriotic event pays homage to Frisco’s and our Nation’s heroes that paid the ultimate price so that we may live in the Land of the Free.
There will be patriotic music, singing, remarks, and the placing of a wreath at the base of the urn at the Veterans Memorial.
Feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
This event is hosted by Frisco VFW Post 8273 and the Frisco Garden Club. Participants include American Legion, Peter J Courcy Post 178, Frisco, TX, The Rotary Club of Frisco, Frisco Chorale and Frisco Community Band. Special thanks to the City of Frisco TX – City Hall, the Frisco Independent School District, Play Frisco – Frisco Parks & Recreation and the many volunteers that make this event possible.
Consisting of over 150 members, Frisco’s VFW post 8273 is comprised of veterans of the United States Armed Forces that have served our country from World War II through Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their mission is to enhance lives through community service programs and special projects to include annual scholarships to high school seniors, providing services and information to local veterans and supporting current members of the armed forces that are serving overseas.
