K9 Veterans Day, the day when all military dogs should be commemorated. This is an unofficial holiday, but the enthusiast make efforts to change the situation. The United States K9 Corps were created on March 13, 1942.
St Patrick is one of Ireland’s patron saints and many Americans with Irish ancestry remember him on March 17. Patrick’s Day is fixed on March 17, but may occasionally be moved by Catholic Church authorities. This happened in 1940, so that the celebrations would not fall on Palm Sunday, and in 2008 to avoid Holy Monday, the last Monday before Easter Sunday.
Eastern and Western churches continue to celebrate Easter according to different calendars, although sometimes by chance the festivals coincide. Easter celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus, which the Bible says happened around the Jewish festival, Passover

National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed every year on March 29 and is a way to thank and honor our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.

Consisting of over 150 members, Frisco’s VFW post 8273 is comprised of veterans of the United States Armed Forces that have served our country from World War II through Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their mission is to enhance lives through community service programs and special projects to include annual scholarships to high school seniors, providing services and information to local veterans and supporting current members of the armed forces that are serving overseas.
WELCOME HOME!!
The terms “Gold Star family,” and “Gold Star Spouses,” and “Gold Star Wives” traditionally refer to the surviving loved ones of military members killed in the line of duty in combat. “Gold Star Wives Day” was created to honor these loved ones.
April 5 is designated as Gold Star Spouses day and will be on Friday, April 5, 2019. As with many things in American culture, it can take time for our institutions to catch up with society, which is why over time the word “wives” in the name of the remembrance has been replaced by the word “spouses” many use the terms Gold Star Wives Day and Gold Star Spouses Day interchangeably. This recognition of the sacrifices made by military spouses is all at once a memorial for the fallen, a remembrance day for the survivors, and an appreciation for those who are sometimes in danger of being overlooked for their support and service to the country.

The purpose of this meeting is to hear Officer Activity Reports, Committee Chair and Program Chair Reports, discuss any old business, new business and set the agenda for the upcoming Membership Meeting. This is not a ‘closed’ meeting and is a very good way to learn the Legion and position responsibilitie

Collin County is honored to be called home by nearly 40,000 of our nation’s valiant veterans. As a Marine, ensuring my fellow servicemen and women receive the recognition they deserve for their sacrifice to our nation is incredibly important.
That’s why I’m excited to help local veterans obtain the military medals they earned in service to our country. On April 12, 2019 my office will host a Badges of Honor event to assist veterans and their families in beginning the military medal request process. Paperwork required by each military branch can be daunting, however my staff will be available to help TX-03 veterans and their loved ones complete the necessary forms.
The event will take place on Friday, April 12, 2019 at my Collin County Office located at 5600 Tennyson Blvd, Suite 275, Plano, TX 75024 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
If you are interested in requesting your military medals or decorations, or those of a loved one, please RSVP online or call my Collin County office at (972) 202-4150.
It is an honor and privilege to serve you in the United States House of Representatives.
Semper Fidelis,
Van Taylor
